Credit Reference Agencies hold detailed information on people's credit status, including any agreements, arrears, defaults, CCJ’s and so forth that they may have incurred. Contrary to popular belief there is no such thing as a ‘credit blacklist’, Credit Reference Agencies provide this information to lenders, who reach their own decision according to that data. Individuals also have the right co check what credit details are held under their name subject to payment of a processing fee.
